IRO chooses Waro to measure and reduce the environmental impact of its collections

"Waro enabled us to comply with the AGEC law and lay the foundations for our eco-design strategy."

Elsa Franchi, Operations Manager

Since February 2025, IRO, a French luxury brand, has been working with Waro to measure the impact of its products.

This partnership comes at a strategic time: recently integrated into the Ellassay group, the brand wanted an operational tool capable of bringing all its teams on board (CSR, operations, style, production) and aligning compliance, eco-design and product communication.

Three months after the launch of the project, we take a look back at the objectives of our collaboration, the first steps taken and the roadmap for the future.

The ambitions of the partnership with Waro

The collaboration between IRO and Waro is based on three structuring objectives:

1. Ensure regulatory compliance: meet the requirements of the AGEC Act.

2. Structuring an eco-design strategy: equipping production and styling teams to identify and integrate impact-reduction levers right from the design stage, in line with IRO's artistic direction.

3. Promote the approach to IRO customers through regulatory communication on products.

What has already been put in place since the beginning of the partnership

The project was launched in February 2025 with IRO's Head of Operations. Within the first few weeks, several key milestones were reached:‍

- Data collection & structuring for the Winter 2025 collection: IRO helped Waro integrate the data needed to measure the impact of 900 product catalog references.

- Presentation of impact analyses for the Winter 2025 collection and macro eco-design simulations.

- Definition of IRO's eco-design strategy for the development of future collections:

We defined IRO's eco-design strategy for the development of future collections based on a dedicated workshop, conducted on the basis of an analysis of the Winter 2025 collection. This exercise enabled us to identify and prioritize eight concrete reduction levers. At the same time, we benchmarked the eco-design approaches of four competitors in order to situate IRO's level of ambition and guide strategic choices.

- Integration of the Waro communication module on the product pages of IRO's e-commerce site.

Next steps

The coming months will be crucial in putting this strategy into practice, and raising the skills of all our business teams. Among the actions planned:

- Continue data collection for the Summer 2026 collection to ensure continuity of analysis and regulatory compliance for future collections

- Train 3 new people to use the tool (styling and production team)‍

- Deploy eco-design guidelines co-constructed with product teams, which will serve as a framework for developing future collections.‍

- Translate eco-design guidelines into an operational action plan to help the design and production teams manage their objectives and track progress on the platform (impact analyses, eco-design simulations, reporting).
